Josef spent 40 years with the Houston Fire Department, retiring as District Chief. In addition to fighting countless fires, Josef found his true calling overseeing the Fire Academy where he trained countless firefighters from Houston and around the world. His knowledge of smoke and fire will come in handy as he's opening his Dickey's Barbecue Pit across the street from NASA in Houston.

Scott is a Navy veteran and was deployed as a hospital corpsman to both Saudi Arabia and Somalia. He also spent more than two decades as an EMT working with more than 900 healthcare providers across Nevada. Scott is passionate about barbecue and uses his Dickey’s Barbecue Pit restaurants to give back to first responders and the community in the Las Vegas area.

Ulises Teyes is a member of the San Francisco Fire Department and has been a first responder for more than a decade - both as a firefighter and a paramedic. He also owns the Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Yuba City, California where he uses Legit. Texas. Barbecue. to connect and give back to his community.

After serving in the Vietnam War and the Marines, Lt. Robert Owens joined the Dallas Police Department and served in Patrol, SWAT, Vice and Communications Div. Special Projects in 1974. After 40 years of service, Lt. Owens retired from the Dallas Police Department. Additionally, he has volunteered as an adjunct instructor for the State Department Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program and Homeland Security WMD Tactical Environment course.
